A Long Term Business Visa allows you to work in New Zealand in a self-employed capacity for up to 3 years. After 2 years, you may then be able to apply for residency through the Entrepreneur Category.
To qualify for this visa, amongst other things, you must intend buying or setting up a new business that will provide benefit to New Zealand, have relevant business ownership experience or relevant experience at senior management level, and have sufficient funds to invest in the business and to support yourself.
There are two levels of Investor Visa which allow you to live in New Zealand for a three or four year investment period and after two or four years you can then apply for a renewal of the visa with indefinite Travel Conditions.
There are different investment level criteria for the two Investor Visas (Investor & Investor Plus) and also requirements around business experience. A certain level of English language ability and time spent in New Zealand in each year are also required.
